I'm Whitney, the founding mama of SproutFit. And that adorable toddler my husband Taylor and I are looking at? Meet Beckham :) the inspiration behind designing clothing that solves problems instead of creating more!
The idea came to me one day while I was sitting in my then infant son's closet shouting curse words at the piles of outgrown clothing around me. (If you're a parent, I'm sure you can relate to the frustration that comes with keeping a baby in clothing that fits for more than a month or two!)
So, that was totally me. Frustrated and tired of spending time and money replacing clothing Beckham would quickly outgrow.
Similar to cloth diapers, I set out to find clothing that would fit and adjust as B was sprouting. But, I couldn't find anything eco-friendly, long-lasting and made in America.
We talked to our friends, polled Facebook groups and interviewed parents - and it became clear that this was a common problem with no solution. So, in June 2016, I started designing a collection of better baby basics that fit up to a year per size.
Fast forward to March 2017, and our Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign finished at 142% of goal with the help of our original backers. With their support, we were able make our dream a reality and get SproutFit made at a fair-trade factory in Los Angeles!
As parents, we naturally want the best for our kids. So Taylor and myself are proud to share those problem-solving pieces with parents and gift givers alike :)
Thank you for sprouting with us!
All our love and gratitude,
The SproutFit Family
